Fit Friday: Walk Georgia

Oh the journeys I am beginning. From now on Fridays will be dedicated to my journey to become a more healthy individual. I’m not setting a goal of weight to lose. I’m not overhauling my diet or cutting out all soft drinks (wouldn’t that be lovely ;]). Each Friday, I’m simply going to focus on one aspect of my life in which I have made my habits healthier. For the first installment of “Fit Friday”, I’ll introduce y’all to

It’s a fun program hosted by the UGA Cooperative Extension. For 8 weeks you log in your physical activity daily and for each mile you earn, you can “walk” across the state of Georgia and learn interesting facts about the different counties. This program is a BIG hit in my house. Click on the picture above and go to the website to sign-up. Registration begins Sunday and runs through March 9. The program begins (again) on March 6! My family is super competitive. We either participate as a team and try to beat everyone in Clarke County (due to my dad’s job we pretend we live in Athens-Clarke county) or we participate individually and try to beat each other 🙂
